tony gonzalez-3-831x1024Anthony David Gonzalez (born February 27, 1976) was a former American football tight end who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 17 seasons. He is regarded as one of the most outstanding tight end players ever and the all-time NFL leader in receiving yards and receptions from a tightener, along with ranking third overall in receiving. Gonzalez's first 12 seasons spent with the Kansas City Chiefs. In 1997, he made it to the NFL's draft as the 1st pick. In his final five seasons, he was with the Atlanta Falcons. Since his retirement in 2013, Gonzalez has been an NFL analyst for NFL on Prime Video and was previously employed by CBS Sports and Fox Sports.Gonzalez finished his career with 14 Pro Bowl selections, the most of a tight-end and second most in league history In addition, he was awarded six All-Pros on the first team. He is known for his endurance and a rare fumble, Gonzalez appeared in 270 of 272 regular season games and only lost two fumbles on 1,327 touches. Gonzalez was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2019.
